James Adam BSc, MSc, DC
CHIROPRACTOR
James graduated as a chiropractor from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2016; he then worked in Liverpool and the Wirral in private practice and for the medical team of Caldy rugby union team for 3 seasons - helping the team to become champions of National 2 and maintain their National 1 status. From his time in sport, he particularly enjoys treating athletes and sports injuries; however, he is happy to treat anyone from childhood to the elderly. He has trained to use instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM) and spinal manipulation but has an interest in exercise-based rehabilitation. He is a keen runner and is currently studying running gait assessments with the aim to roll out a running assessment platform at Upgrade, in the near future.

Karen Jacobsen BSc, DC
CHIROPRACTOR
Karen began her training at medical school in Denmark, completing her studies at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, from where she graduated in 1992. In 1993 Karen founded a Chiropractic Clinic in the Midlands, it quickly grew into a large, multi-disciplinary clinic recognised for outstanding patient care. In 2016 a relocation to Guernsey required her to sell her thriving practice. She has completed a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Chiropractic. Karen is particularly interested in the treatment of chronic low back pain, headache, neck and shoulder problems and the treatment of the elderly. To care for her patients, she uses a variety of techniques including specific spinal manipulation, soft-tissue work, sacro-occipital technique and low intensity laser therapy.
